John’s true account finishes with these words:
30Jesus performed many other signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not recorded in this book. 31But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.
John 20:24–31
If you believe that Jesus came to save you by laying down his life for you, and rose from the dead to offer you this ‘better life’, then why not use this prayer to mark the beginning of your Christian life?
Dear God, I am so sorry that my heart is turned away from you, and I naturally love darkness instead of light. Thank you that Jesus came, laid down his life for me and rose again, that I might be saved – I believe! Please help me to trust in Jesus, the way, the truth, and the LIFE.
